The first lines about reading to a child were inspired by my friend, Nancy. She retired from teaching last year. She now volunteers as an Oasis tutor. I walked past the classroom last week where her head was bent near that of the student she was working with. All I could think of was what a generous heart she has. The rest flowed from there...thinking of others who stretch the boundaries of their own life to help others.
